Rare Candy 256/198 is a gold secret rare Trainer item card from the Scarlet and Violet Base Set, the first main English expansion of the Scarlet and Violet era. Because the card number (256) is higher than the set size on the card (198), it sits beyond the standard numbered run, which marks it as a secret rare.
This printing carries the gold treatment that the line reserves for its top end secret rares, giving the familiar Rare Candy item a premium finish that stands apart from the common version found in the same set. Rare Candy is a long running item card used to speed up evolution in play, so it carries appeal for both players who want a showcase copy and collectors chasing the gold cards from the set.
As a gold secret rare it is pulled far less often than the regular printing, which keeps it on plenty of want lists.
