Pidgeot ex (164/197) is from the English Obsidian Flames set, released in 2023 during the Scarlet and Violet era. As an ex card, Pidgeot ex is a powerful evolution stage Pokemon that gives up extra prize cards when knocked out, a trade off for its higher hit points and stronger attacks.
Pidgeot has long been a staple Flying type, and this ex version saw plenty of competitive play thanks to its ability to fetch cards and keep a deck running smoothly, which made it a card players reached for as well as collected. The collector number 164/197 sits within the set total of 197, so this is a card from the main set numbering rather than a secret rare.
Collectors and players look for Pidgeot ex both for its place in Obsidian Flames master sets and for its role in competitive decks of the period.
