This is Nest Ball, card 255/198 from the Scarlet and Violet Base Set, the set that opened the Scarlet and Violet era in 2023. As a Trainer item card, Nest Ball is a familiar deck staple, but this version is something rather different to the everyday copy.
The 255/198 numbering places it well beyond the base set size of 198, which marks it as a card from the secret rare range. It carries the Gold and Hyper Rare treatment, meaning the entire card is rendered in a gleaming gold metallic finish. Hyper Rares are reserved for select Trainer and item cards in each modern set, giving everyday cards a premium collector finish.
Gold item cards like this Nest Ball are popular with collectors who enjoy chase cards that come from outside the usual Pokemon lineup. The clean gold design displays well on its own and is a recognisable highlight from the Scarlet and Violet Base Set.
