Mew ex comes from the 151 set, a Scarlet and Violet era release built around the original Kanto Pokemon. The ex cards are the headline mechanic of this era, marking powerful Pokemon with higher health and strong attacks, paired with a knock out rule that hands the opponent extra prizes when they are defeated.
This printing is numbered 151/165 and carries the Double Rare tag, the rarity style used for the standard ex cards in the set. Mew sitting at card number 151 is a fitting touch, since the set itself is named for the 151 original Pokemon and Mew is the famous final entry of that lineup. That connection makes this card a natural focal point for the set.
Collectors look for Mew ex both as a centrepiece of a 151 collection and as part of any focused Mew collection. As one of the most recognisable Pokemon of all time, it carries appeal well beyond the set it appears in.
