Basic Fire Energy 230/197 comes from Obsidian Flames, the 2023 Scarlet and Violet era set. This is the special Gold version of a Basic Fire Energy card, and as a Hyper Rare it sits among the most collectable cards in the set.
This card is numbered 230 out of 197. Because the number is higher than the set total, it sits beyond the main set as one of its top tier chases. Hyper Rare Energy cards are produced with a full gold finish across the whole card, giving the familiar Energy a striking metallic look that is very different from the standard version found in most boosters.
Energy cards are attached to Pokemon to power their attacks, but the gold Hyper Rare versions are collected as display and set completion pieces rather than for play. For collectors finishing an Obsidian Flames run or chasing the gold Energy cards, this is a tidy pickup to find in clean, well centred condition.
Condition and authenticity
This card meets Monster Mart's Mint condition standard:
- Corners: No visible fraying or whitening
- Edges: Smooth and clean, no silvering
- Surface: Free of scratches, dents, creases or smudges
- Centering: Within 60/40 front limit
Every card is authenticated and thoroughly inspected by Monster Mart, and ships tracked from Brisbane in protective sleeves and rigid holders.
